We start Teddy Bear Week off with The Three Bears. This is definitely my favorite to start the kids with. It is the classic, straight, forward version. Be sure to use the Papa Bear’s voice, Mama Bear’s voice and the Baby Bear’s voice during read-aloud! This book NEVER fails to hold their attention and by the end of the week, they can “read” it themselves.
A Chair for Baby Bear tells the story of what happened after Goldilocks broke baby bear’s chair. Adorable! Such a clever book, wish I had come up with the idea!
We Are Going on a Bear Hunt is fun to read with our bears in our laps. We also do the circle time version (without the book).
Found is about love, kindness, and caring. It shows what happens when you outgrow your favorite stuffed animal. It definitely made the kids think.
The kids just LOVED Bear and Hare -Where’s Bear? Hare is playing hide and seek with Bear, who just does not quite get the idea. Quick, fun read!
One Big Pair of Underwear is a class favorite, so any excuse to read it! This hysterical book has the kids interested once they see the front cover. A great story which has a wonderful message of sharing:)
We love the Bear books and Bear Counts is new to our library. Beautiful pictures of Bear as he counts his way through the forest. The book only counts to five which was a little disappointing.
Don’t forget Corduroy. It is the classic read for teddy bear day.
Pin for future reference.
