Groundhog Day Craft Activity
Are you looking for a quick and easy craft activity to make with your students this Groundhog Day? My students have loved this interactive craft and it is easy to prep.
This is a fun opportunity for your students to practice coloring, gluing, and scissor skills as they are learning about groundhogs.
To make this craft, you will need white, blue, yellow, and green construction paper, cotton balls, and a popsicle stick. Also, have tape and a stapler ready. Print the groundhogs on white construction paper and the suns on yellow construction paper. See below for the download.
Cut the green sheets of construction paper 9 x 4 inches. To make the grass add a line for your students to cut to and make the fringe. This is my favorite paper cutter, I use it every day and it saves me so much time!
Have your students color the groundhog and tape it to a popsicle stick. Cut the green construction paper into grass by cutting to the line, and attach it to the blue paper. I used a stapler but you could also use a glue stick. Be sure to leave space for the popsicle stick. Pull the cotton ball apart to make clouds and glue them to the sky along with the sun. Now add the groundhog to the craft.

Here are some of our favorite Groundhog’s Day books and this is one of my favorite resources in my TPT store to add to your Groundhog’s Day curriculum.
