Groundhog Day Crowns for the preschool classroom

Cut white construction paper to 8 1/2 by 11 and add to your printer. Cut out the crowns and strips of paper to attach to the crown. Have your kids color the crowns and then attach a strip of paper to make the crown. An easy Groundhog Day activity and a fun photo opportunity!

Groundhog Day is February 2nd and the story goes when the groundhog emerges he will predict the weather for the next six weeks. If the weather is sunny and he sees his shadow there will be six more weeks of winter. If the weather is cloudy and the groundhog does not see his shadow the weather will be fair as we head into spring.

This Groundhog Day crown craft is a fantastic way to celebrate the holiday. Whether the groundhog sees its shadow or not, your students will enjoy these Groundhog Day crowns!
