Spring is such an exciting time in the preschool classroom! I love all things insects and had a lot of fun creating insect activities to use in our classroom.
You can find the activities here in my Teachers Pay Teachers store!
Clip the bees to the hive, great for coordination and finger strength! Just print, cut out, and add clips to the bees.
Matching bugs
A hands-on preposition activity. Cut out the hive and the bee, attach to popsicle sticks, and practice position words.
Vocabulary cards
Vocabulary worksheet to color and trace.
Vocabulary cards with the words and a recording sheet for a write the room activity. Hang up the vocabulary cards throughout the classroom and give your kids a clipboard. Have the kids find the insects and then write the words or just color the insects. Do your kids love using a clipboard as much as mine do?
Two copies of an emergent reader, one in color for the classroom and one in black and white for the kids to color.
I is for insects.
Counting and circle the difference pages. Place in protective sleeves and use them with dry-erase markers.
Math count and clip cards – put stickers on the back for self-check.
Insect 10-frames, just add those fun counters you have been collecting!
Number puzzles both in color and black and white. I laminated the colored pages and cut apart to use as a number sequencing activity. Have the kids color the black and white sheets and use them as a cutting project.
Insect counting worksheet
Name tags:)
An insect name activity! Print on colored paper, cut out the circles, and add the letters or have the kids write their own.

Finish the pattern! Print on card stock, laminate, and add velcro.
