Printing All the Fun Things!
By far my favorite teacher hack is HP Instant Ink. I have been using it for years and it allows me to print all the fun things without worrying about the cost of the ink or running out of ink! Since we are a small home-based preschool I do not have the option of using someone else’s printer and ink. Before HP Instant Ink I was constantly weighing the cost of printing or taking a hard drive full of files to the local print shop and having them print my copies. HP Instant Ink has allowed me to print decor and materials to use in our classroom, individual worksheets for my kids learning to read and write, colorful newsletters, and many fun art/craft-type projects!
To get started with HP Instant Ink you will need an HP-compatible printer. I have this one. (And yes, I print on cardstock all the time!) While setting up your printer you can sign up for one of the different printing plans. To get one month free, use this HP Code try.hpinstantink.com/hzvrj. Depending on your printer and how much you print the price is approx $10-20 per month.
Your printer will then communicate with HP Instant Ink. HP Instant Ink will send the replacement ink cartridges before you need them. They will also send you a return envelope so you can send back the used cartridges. And there are no additional shipping charges!
I now print all the fun things and worrying about my ink supply never enters the process. I cannot say enough positive things about this program. HP Instant ink is budget-friendly and arrives in my mailbox before I need it, and if I do not use all of my allotted copies they roll over to the next month. I can also change my plan if I think I will need more or less printing. Definitely 100% worth it!
