Teddy Bear week in preschool is definitely a must! There are so many fun activities you can add to your classroom to make this theme a big success. We talk about and describe our teddy bears, measure our teddy bears, sing songs with our teddy bears, and read stories about bears. Be sure to incorporate teddy bear ideas into your math, language, art, shape, and fine motor activities! These teddy bear-themed preschool activities can be found in my TPT store.
We used these shape posters during circle time to go over our shapes. You could also hang these shapes in the classroom and go on a shape hunt.
Color each shape as you find them.

We used push pins with this fine motor activity.
One of our favorite songs to sing is “We Are Going on a Bear Hunt.” We sang it every day during Teddy Bear Week. These fun binoculars added a little extra. I just taped two tp rolls together and added string. I gave the kids washi tape to decorate.
We had fun coloring our teddy bears and then labeling them. I am always trying to find new ways to encourage writing and this was a big hit.

The kids had fun practicing their sight words with these teddy bear cards.
I hung these number cards around the classroom and gave the kids a print-out of all of the numbers. Using clipboards the kids walked around the classroom hunting for the numbers.

These Teddy Bear counters are perfect on the math shelf this week. Use them in 10-frames or patterning.
At the easel this week I added simple teddy bear shapes to paint with shades of brown paint and I posted an easy directed drawing for the kids to paint.
