Valentine Projects for the Preschool Classroom

We love adding Valentine’s Day projects to the preschool classroom during the month of February! Just think of lots of hearts and reds, pinks, and pastels colors. Add giant hearts to the easel, cut out hearts for scissor work, practice adding white to red at the paint table to make pink, and make heart collages.

Painting Valentine Hearts

We are adding white to all of your paint colors this month. Add these simple printables for a quick painting activity at the art table. Download the straight-line printable and hearts all over printable here.

Conversation Heart Valentine’s Writing Activity

Conversation heart writing activity for Valentine's Day in the preschool classroom

At the writing table, we have conversation hearts and a mailbox.  The kids can write messages to friends and family.  The conversation hearts can be found in my TPT Store along with a few other Valentine’s writing activities. You can easily make your own by adding fun Valentine’s day puns to construction paper hearts or grab a bag of candy conversation hearts at the grocery store for the kids to copy.

Valentine Name Activity

Valentine's Day Name Scissor Activity

Add your students’ names to this fun Valentine’s Day heart craft, print, and cut out. Your students can color and then cut on the dotted lines A great name recognition activity.  You can find the editable template for the heart name puzzles here in my TPT store.

Valentine Wand Preschool Project

Heart wands - a Valentine's Day fine motor activity

We make these Valentine’s wands every year. I think it is a preschool requirement somewhere!   Challenge the older kids by having them make a pattern with pony beads. Here are some fun heart beads on Amazon or these red, pink, and white pony beads would be fun too! Quick tip, make a bunch of pipe cleaners hearts for the kids, they will make more than a few and want to give them to everyone they know!

I Love You To Pieces Valentine Preschool Project

Valentine Projects for the Preschool Classroom - I love you to pieces template

I’m pretty sure this is another preschool requirement, the torn I love you to pieces heart. Just print the template and give your students strips of paper. Have them tear the paper and glue them inside the heart.

Valentine Shelf Projects for the Preschool Classroom

On our practical life shelf, the kids are practicing reading each other’s names and mailing Valentine’s mail.

Valentine Projects for the Preschool Classroom - Drop, drop, not a lot, Valentine project

On our art shelf, we have our drop, drop, not-a-lot Valentine glue project.  Just add gems!

Valentine Projects for the Preschool Classroom - Heart scissor work

This scissor work is also on the art shelf. Cut out a bunch of hearts in red, pink, purple, and white. Draw zig-zags, curvy lines, and straight lines.
