Valentine’s Day Preschool Scissor Activities
Are you looking to add some Valentine’s Day-themed scissor activities to your preschool classroom? By February our scissor skills have become quite impressive and there are so many fun activities and crafts you can do with your students this Valentine’s Day.
Don’t be afraid to use scissors with your preschoolers. We started during the first week of school and our snowflakes this winter were amazing!
Valentine’s Day Folded Hearts Activity
Of course, the obvious scissor activity this month is folded hearts. Cut small squares, fold in half and draw a half heart on the side. Prepare a lot! The kids will go through them faster than you can make them!
Simple cutting on the lines
Another simple activity is to cut out a bunch of hearts and make lines down the middle for the kids to cut. Make simple lines to start but challenge the kids with curves and zig-zags once they get the hang of it!
Valentine’s Day Puzzle Activities
These scissor puzzles are a fun challenge for kids. They are available in my TPT Store. I have the kids color the Valentine’s picture and then cut on the dotted lines. The kids can then share their puzzles with their friends and family. This is an easy prep! Just print and cut the page in half, there are two puzzles per page.
Print this Valentine’s Day-themed scissor activity on fun pink, red, or purple construction paper and cut them out. Have your students practice cutting on the lines.
Valentine’s Day Name Craft
These heart-name activities are perfect for Valentine’s Day. Add your students’ names to this editable resource, print on white or colored construction paper, and cut out. Your students can practice both their scissor skills and name recognition. Grab this resource here!
