What Is Missing? Preschool Game
Gather a few items and name and describe them as you lay them in front of the kids. Grab a cloth to cover the objects and remove one object. The kids can then guess which one is missing. When the kids get the idea of the game add more objects or remove two at a time for more of a challenge
Here is a group of random objects that we used. I would then cover the items, remove one, and ask, “Can you tell me which object is missing?”
Which color is missing?
This is also a fun game to play with colors. Which color is missing?
Which 3-D Shape Is Missing?
This month we have been working on our 3-D solid shapes.
Playing what 3-D shape is missing is a great way to reinforce the names of the shapes.
Circle Time Game
During transition times or when we have a few extra minutes during story time I like to have visual posters to keep the kids engaged. These, “What are missing?” posters have been so fun.
The snowman is great for the younger kids to get an idea of the game.
This snow globe filled with winter objects is perfect for working on winter vocabulary.
These winter “What is Missing?” posters are available in my TPT Store! Looking for more ideas to use during circle time? Take a peek at this section of my TPT store which includes some fun, “What Does Not Belong” posters! If you are remotely teaching these work great over Zoom too!
