Thanksgiving Preschool Activities

Turkey handprints and cornucopias are classic preschool activities to make with your students this Thanksgiving. Keep reading for more ideas you can add to your classroom this holiday season.

Thanksgiving Art and Craft Activities

Happy Thanksgiving Painted Handprints
Happy Thanksgiving scented handprints

Turkey handprints are a classic Thanksgiving art activity in the preschool classroom. Print the Happy Thanksgiving pages on construction paper and paint your students’ fingers with fall paint colors and their palms with brown paint. Another fun option the kids love is to make a glue handprint, sprinkle with cinnamon or pumpkin spice, and add stick legs, gobbles, and googly eyes. Download the updated 2024 version here.

Thanksgiving Cornucopia Preschool Activity

Make Cornucopias with your students this year! This is one of our favorites each year. Download the templates, print on construction paper, and cut out the fruits and veggies. You can find the craft here.

Turkey Name Activity

Thanksgiving Turkey Preschool Name Activity

How cute is this turkey name activity? Just print on white construction paper, color, and cut out. Add the letters in the correct order to make the turkey! See more pics of this cutie here.

Turkey Beginning Sounds Reader

Thanksgiving Preschool Beginning Sounds Activity

Use this Thanksgiving beginning sounds reader to practice beginning sounds. Your students can color each page as they practice sounds and letter recognition. And these turkeys in disguise are sooo fun! Download the reader here.

Thanksgiving Fine Motor Activities

Thanksgiving Hole Punch Activity
Turkey Hole Punch Activity

All students love to use a hole punch. Add feathers or this fun turkey to a tray with a hole punch or add it to one of your centers. With this activity, your students can work on their eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills. The turkey and more Thanksgiving hole punch activities are available in my TPT store here.

Thanksgiving Fine Motor Preschool Activity

Print this featherless turkey and have your students add feathers. Watch how unique each turkey turns out! Find the template on this page.

Number/Math Activities

Turkey Number Posters

Use these turkey number posters as wall decor or flashcards to practice number recognition. We love to use them whenever we have a quick minute to fill, usually during circle or storytime, or when lining up.

Turkey Link Activity

My students love these links, they are constantly used in the classroom. We use them for fine motor practice, counting, patterning, and much more. Changing up the cards helps keep the activity fresh. The download includes a number order activity and a counting activity. Download the link cards here for your classroom! Print, laminate, cut apart, and punch holes in the black circles.

Turkey Shape Posters

Turkey Shape Posters for the preschool classroom

We are always working on shapes in preschool! Use these turkey posters as decor or flash cards. Download them here!

Don’t forget to ask your students what they will be eating for Thanksgiving and what they are thankful for. I love to type up the responses and give them to the parents. They are so fun to read!
