Mitten Name and Scissor Activity

A mitten name craft is a great way for your students to practice name recognition, letter order, and scissor skills. This activity is easy to edit and add the letters of your student’s name. Print on colored construction paper and cut out, or print on white construction paper for your students to color.
This activity strengthens fine motor development, letter sequencing, name recognition, and hand-eye coordination. You can display the finished mittens on a festive winter-themed bulletin board. This activity is available in my TPT store.
Mitten Torn Paper Craft

Strengthen hand muscles while exploring textures, colors, and simple art techniques while making this torn paper mitten craft. Tearing and gluing paper helps develop finger strength and coordination. These are important skills for future writing. The cozy mitten theme makes this craft a fun and engaging winter activity for the classroom or at home. You can find the template here!

It is a fun and easy craft that will look amazing on your classroom windows. You can find the templates for the mitten and other suncatchers in this resource, available in my TPT store.
The Mitten Book Activity
I have read and reread The Mitten every winter for years. It is always a favorite. As a fun extension, add mittens and plastic winter animals, and then count how many fit in each mitten. Print the mittens on construction paper and cut them out. Laminate and use year after year!
