Letter I – Preschool Alphabet Activities
Introducing a new letter is a great opportunity to build early literacy skills in a fun and engaging way. Preschoolers learn best when they can explore letters through hands-on activities, fine motor practice, and playful learning experiences. Focusing on one letter at a time helps children strengthen letter recognition and beginning sound awareness.
Start by introducing words that begin with I, such as insect and iguana. Encourage your students to say the words aloud and listen for the /i/ sound at the beginning. Adding simple, engaging activities to your centers is a great way to reinforce letter learning while giving preschoolers opportunities to practice important early literacy skills.
