St. Patrick’s Day is a magical time in the preschool classroom! It is the perfect opportunity to combine fun, hands-on activities with meaningful learning.
Green Color Mixing Painting Activity
St. Patrick’s Day is the perfect time to explore the color green in your preschool classroom! A simple green color mixing painting activity helps children learn about colors while strengthening fine motor skills and creativity.
Add blue, yellow, white, black, and different shades of green to a palette, and let your students mix and paint the shamrocks. This hands-on activity is easy to set up and always a favorite.

Shamrock Printing
This is an easy art project to set up. Use shamrock cookie cutters and green paint with a little glue mixed in to make the prints. Add glitter, of course! We made these windsocks out of our art!
Shamrock Marble Painting

Grab a box, add a piece of white paper, and add some marbles! Give your students green and white paint to roll the marbles through. Cut out the paintings into shamrocks!
St. Patrick’s Day Sensory Activity
This sensory table had white beans, which are dyed green, plastic coins, scoopers, and pots.
To dye the white beans, place the beans in a zip-top bag and add various shades of green acrylic paint. Air-dry them on paper towels placed on cookie sheets.
St. Patrick’s Day Name Activity
